Well, after years of starts and pauses, I'm finally diving full force into genealogy work. It's been a BUSY 8 years or so but it is time to issue an update to The Hersey Family History book. So please feel free to contact me through this forum, or directly at herseysteve@hotmail.com.
Cheers,
Steve Hersey

Hello Steve,

I'd lost track of you.

When we last 'talked' we were still looking for the connection between the Northern Hersey families (from New England; originally from England; your line)and the Southern Hersey families (from Wiregrass Georgia and norhtern Florida; my wife's line), source originally unknown.

With DNA testing I have established that the Northern Hersey and Southern Hersey families are NOT related. DNA results for the Northern Hersey familes is European and the Southern Hersey families are of Native American descent.

Good to hear that you are back at your genealogy efforts.

Steve, I have been working on my branch of the family tree and have it complete from Samuel Hersey-Samuel Hersey-Thomas Arthur Hersey-Thomas Talcott Hersey-William Hersey-Marion Thomas Hersey(Myself) it can be viewed as well as my brothers and sisters my uncles, cousins, and great relatives, if requested. How do I get your book? I have been looking for a copy of it to show the Mayflower society to document the Hersey lineage.
