Re: Brad Hersey Search
Hello,
Just so everybody who was posted messages here, there are multiple distinct HERSEY families in the U.S. The two major ones are from New England (with ancestors from England) and Wiregrass Georgia and Florida (southeast Georgia and northern Florida. The Wiregrass Georgia HERSEY families have an Indian male ancestor who I believe to be Thomas HERSEY (1803-1906) from Coffee and Ware Co., Georgia.
An overview of the HERSEY families and the DNA test results that have established the Indian ancestry for the Wiregrass georgia Herseys are available on my Web site for Hersey; i.e., http://www.huxford.com/Genetics_Hersey.htm
My wife is a HERSEY from Wiregrass Georgia; a 3rd great granddaughter of old Thomas HERSEY.
