W. T. Hersey - Civil War

W. T. Hersey wrote a letter back on Feb. 27, 1862 from the City General Hospital, 5th and Chestnut, St. Louis MO. He was writing to "My Dearest Little Jane". He also asked that Ludotia(?) write to him also. He signed the letter as "your constant loving friend". He was evidently wounded in the civil war. He mentions that the 42 Ill Regiment was going down to Cairo. Also mentions something about Ft. Donelson, I believe.

Does anyone have this person in their line? This is not an ancestor of mine (that I know of) but letter was saved all these years.

Thank you.
