Hi, Does anyone know the origins of these first and middle names of Alfred Herrington, Sr.(1852-1923) and Annie Lee Wilkens'(1866-1957) sons? This family, like most of my other Herrington family members, were from Emanuel Co., GA, specifically the Swainsboro area. Alfred Herrington, Sr. was a prominent judge and lawyer. I had found in the past, people with the above full names of Roger Gamble, Patrick Calhoun and Morris Dawson-all men I thought were in the legal profession. Was it a common practice to name your children's first and middle names after someone elses first name and surname? I was curious if these names were just random hero worship type names like "Andrew Jackson Herrington" or "Brad Pitt Herrington" :) or were they used to honor a friend or family member. Any info or thoughts? Thanks, CJ
