I am seeking info re: my great aunt, born in Arthabaska, Quebec on May 30, 1866 and baptized the same day. She was the third child born to Louis and Agnes (Baril) Heon. They left Canada and settled in Michigan shortly after that date. There is no record of her with the family in the 1880 U.S. census. Louis changed the last name to Remo, probably as it was Heon-dit-Raymond and spelled Remo when he served in the Civil War. Is there someone who could check the Canadian records to see if she died at birth? Her oldest brother, Philippe-Conrad, died the same year in Arthabaska. Her older sister, Marie-Corinne, came to Michigan and she and her next sister, Marie-Jean, married Chartrand brothers. I have records of the children born in Michigan...Louis, John, David, Norman and Elma. Louis, Jr., returned to Canada and was a gold mine prospector and worked on the King's Highway construction in Swastika, Ontario. Any information re: this Catholic family would be much appreciated.
