I have not done much on my Hensley line.
I have a few clues and I have a few family members who might not like my curiosity and questions but gonna post them anyways.
Maybe with help we can figure this out for me.

I was born with the name Hensley. My father was listed as a Hensley on MY birth certificate (as far as I know he is still alive but I hadn't heard from him in about 13-14 years).

I sent for my fathers birth certificate but it can not be found because there was NO SUCH person listed in their birth records with his name. So I did a little more digging and I found out my father was NOT a Hensley a birth. And because I am a Hensley and he is not .... I can not get his birth certificate.

So from here we go with these questions and assumptions.
1. My father was adopted by the Hensley. But I can find no legal paper work of such a thing. So did he just assume the Hensley name? and gave it to his children? He had 4 children that can proven.
2. How can I get a copy of his birth certificate?
3.If his name was NOT legally change how did he get his SS# and his license and other things in the Hensley name?
