I have a William Samuel Henslee b 1871 in Texas who has a brother Rufus Hensley b.1875 in Texas. I am told by my grandmother they also had a sister.

I am also told that William is a half borther to Rufus and the sister.

In William's early days he went by Sam Hensley. His brother's real name is Robert Bruce Hensley as seen on his only son's birth certifcate...his name was James Bruce Hensley who recently passed away a few years ago.

William and his brother Rufus say they were born in Texas. The parents listed on William death certificate are William Henslee b ARK and Della Green b Texas.

I do not know if this is really the parents names..William's only son was the informant on the death certificate. His name was John Leslie Henslee also went by Tex.
William lived in Amarillo from 1930's till his death with his wife and children.

He spent his youth in Oklahoma and is 1/2 Native American. He said he was Chickasaw.

I cannot however find his family...in Texas or Oklahoma...meaning his parents or his sister. My earliest record is him living in Purcell in 1895 and this is from a marriage document. He was a cowboy and worked on Ranches in Oklahoma and Texas...if you have relations to this family please let know..I am very interested
