Classification: Query
Surnames: Hensley, Henslee, Hensleigh, Hensly
I have researched my ancestors back to William Hensley supposedly of Norfolk England. Past researchers have listed him as traveling to the Virginia Colonies in 1622 with his son James. I have yet to find him listed as a passenger on the ships of the 1600's. I find it interesting all forenames in my lineage are from Scotland instead of England. There are several spellings of the surname Hensley. I am interested in any information on my surname Hensley in Scotland. I have seen a photograph of the Hensleigh House in England and also there is a Hensley Hotel. I have not found any connections with these landmarks to William or his son James. William was born around 1583, his son James around 1605, the next generation James around 1642, then Benjamin, Benjamin, Colbert, Hickman, Andrew, Mitchell, John, Samuel, and then (me) Imogene (my american english spelling) or Emma Jean (the Scotland spelling of my great grandmother).
