In the name of God Amen.

I Joseph W. Hennion of Pinebrook of the County of Morris and State of New Jersey being of sound mind and memory make and publish my last will and testament. Hereby revoking all other last wills and testaments by me heretofore made. First, as soon as convenient after my death my executors will dispose of my real estate and personal property at public or private sale at their option or as they see fit and proper.

Secondly, to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses from the proceeds and invest the balance in bond and mortgage or otherwise at the option and discretion of my executors.

Thirdly, I will that the interest of the money invested be paid annually in seven equal parts to my children for ten years as follows. To my son Amzi G. and daughters Elizabeth E., Phebe A., Jane A., Julia L., Sarah M. and Martha E. each one part and at the expiration of ten years to divide the principle equally among the above mentioned children or their heirs.

Fourthly, I will to my son Amzi G. my watch and wearing apparel.

Fifthly, my wife Sarah having received six hundred dollars from me in lieu of dower which she would otherwise be entitled to, it is my will that all property which she brought with her or was possessed of when we were married and also all that she has made since that time all being furniture and household goods be given to her.

Lastly, I do nominate and appoint my son Abram and my son-in-law James Vreeland to be the executors of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the second day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy six.

The above instrument consisting of one sheet of paper was now here subscribed by Joseph W. Hennion, the testator in the presence of each of us and was at the same time declared by him to be his last will and testament and we at his request sign our name hereto as attesting witnesses.

Azariah Crane one of the witnesses to the annexed will being duly sworn did on his oath depose and say that he saw Joseph W. Hennion the testator therein named sign and seal the same and heard him pronounce publish and declare it to be his last will and testament and at the doing thereof the said testator was of sound and disposing mind and memory as far as this deponent knows and as he verily believes and that Benjamin S. Crane the other subscribing evidence was present at the same time and signed his name as witness to said will together with this deponent in the presence of the said testator.

Abram Hennion and James A. Vreeland the executors in the annexed will named being duly sworn did on their oath depose and say that the annexed writing contains the true last will and testament of Joseph W. Hennion the testator therein named. So far as they know and as they verily believe and that they will well and truly perform the same by paying first the debts of the said deceased and then the legacies in said testament specified. So far as the goods and chattels rights and credits of said deceased can thereunto extend and that they will make and exhibit unto the Surrogate's Office of the County of Morris a true and ________ inventory of all and singular the goods, chattels, and credits of said deceased that have or shall come to their knowledge or possession or to the possession of any other person or persons for their use and render a just and true account when thereunto lawfully required. And that said testator died on the Twelfth day of December A.D. 1880.

I Charles A. Gillen, Surrogate of said County do certify the annexed to be a true copy of the last will and testament of Joseph W. Hennion late of the County of Morris deceased and that Abram Hennion and James A. Vreeland the executors therein named proved the same before me and is duly authorized to take upon themselves the administration of the estate of the testator agreeable to said will.

Witnesses my hand and seal of office this Fourth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one.

Note: Joseph Willis Hennion was s/o John D. Hennion and Phebe Baldwin. His first wife and mother of his children was Sarah Van Duyne. Second wife was Sarah Schuyler. It appears his daughters were frequently called by their middle names. To the best of my knowledge his children were as follows: Abram m. Mary Wintermute; Marcus E. m. (1) Sidney Hawk and (2)Clarinda Newell; Elizabeth Ellen m. James Argraves Vreeland; Phebe Antoinette m. (?) Class; Amsa G. m. (?); Jane Ann m. Egbert Miller; Julia L. m. Smith Milford; Sarah M. m. Elias Woodward; and Martha E. (Emeline).
