Since Tioga County, Pennsylvania borders New York state, it's very likely that Catherine's parents could be James & Margaret Dildine who were living in Hornellsville, Steuben Co. NY in 1840 & 1850. There is a tree at Ancestry(Kaylor/Mercer/Hendershott Family Tree) showing them, but only lists one son, John R. Dildine, his wife Mary Jane & their sons Zenus W. Dildine, Zacharias Dildine; and daughters Charity (m- Thomas J. Taylor) & Margaret. By the 1860 census, James & Margaret are living with son John and his family. James and Margaret were both born in Pennsylvania.
