"Brothers quizzed in Fathers Death"
Williamson, Oct. 11(AP).- Prosecuter J.W. Copley , of Mingo Co. , questioned George Helbert , 28, and his brother Eldon , 30, today after their father was found shot to death. Copley said he would file murder charges against George later today and charges of assisting a fugitive against Eldon.
Officers transferrer George to the county jail here from Welch, where he was lodged by state troopers who arrested him at Bandy a few hours after the shooting. Eldon was brought from the Logan county jail.
The prosecuter said neither knew his brother was being held.
* This is the s/o John Chapman Helbert (this family changed the spelling to Hilbert) . John's wife claimed to be a widow in the 1930 census , as you can see , she was not quite a widow.

Two indictments were returned , one against George Hilbert, for slaying his father, John, in an argument over possession of a calf; and against Mrs. Mollie Collins, charged with killing her husband as he slept between two friends after a party.

Mingo- George Hilbert , January 1936 , 5 years for voluntary manslaughter.
* I am not sure about the two dates , but think George was paroled in 1936, and it was not listed in the paper til 1938. This was taken from an article about Mrs. Frazier is one of 19 to get a parole. I was told that George did not spend a night in jail for the killing of his father.
