Surnames: Helberg/Haas/Luehrsen
I am seeking anyone who can help me with Heinrich E. F. Helberg b. 10 April 1837 in Franzenburg, Germany. He died 18 April 1882 in Middle Creek, Seward Co., Nebraska and is buried in Immanuel Lurtheran Cemetery. He married before 1863 in Franzenburg, Germany Katherina Haas or Luehrsen. She was born 1837-1840 in Germany.

Germans to America Vol. 19 Jan. 1867 - Aug. 1867 shows the following information:
Ship:Tuisko From: Bremen To: New York Arrived: 17 June 1867
Hellberg, Heinrich 30 M MSN (Mason) heading to Wisconsin
Catharine 28 F
Anna-Dorothea 3 F (My 2nd great-grandmother)
Nicholas-Frederick 11 mths M
Original manifest shows this family came from Franzenburg, Germany. They went to Westfield,Sauk Co., Wisconsin and can be found on the 1870 census there page 291. Wisconsin is also where Henry Helberg applied for citizenship. In 1880 they will be found in Middle Creek, Seward County, Nebraska. Both died before the 1900 census.

Nebraska marriage records states parents names, mothers maiden name. I have two Helberg marriages from Nebraska both their children. Mothers maiden name is different on both. One is Haas in 1881, which is my 2nd great grandmother, and the other is listed as Luehrsen in 1896, my 2nd great grandmothers sister.

I have also obtained court records after Catherines death, she is still listed as a Helberg. Her and Henry's probate was recorded in the courts together. Henry's began after his death and finalized after Catherines death.

Their children are:
Dorothea Anna b. Jul 1863 m. 24 Feb 1881 d. 25 Dec 1944
Nicolaus-Frederick b. Sep 1865
Emma b. 09 Mar 1869 Never Married d. 11 Feb 1937
Edward b. 1871 d. bef. 1937
Martha b. 1875 m. 05 May 1896 John Hoelk
Elizabeth Louisa b. 1877 m. Emil Buchholz
Clara b. Aug 1879

This family is a huge work in progress as it is very difficult to find information on this Helberg family without doing alot of traveling. Just returned from Nebraska where I obtained alot of the information that is posted within..... thanks Pattie
