He ran off with Miriam Pollock (3 Sep 1903 - 1 Jul 1982), d/o Winfield Scott Pollock & (2) Ella Adamson. They had lived in Oil City, Venango, PA, 1900 & 1910, but were in Mercer, Mercer, PA for the 1920 Census. There are references to Miss Miriam Pollock on the Society page of the New Castle (PA) News as late as Dec 1927, not a peep after that. She changed her first name to Helen & was enumerated as Helen Dunlap in the 1930 & 1940 Census. She is listed as Helen M. Dunlap (wid Clark) in the 1960 Redding, CA City Directory, & again in the 1971 Directory. In the CA Death Index, they are Clark H. Dunlap & Helen Marie Dunlap, and Clark's entry says his mother's maiden name is Montgomery. Clair/Clark d. 10 Jul 1960. Miriam's family back in Lawrence Co, PA still named her surviving sister Miriam Dunlap of Redding, CA, in three obits for her siblings, New Castle News, May 1972 through Jun 1977. The Pollock family had been in Lawrence Co, PA since at least 1850; Alexander Pollock married one of my Fisher relatives there in 1851, and are the parents of Winfield Scott Pollock.
