Hello. I think Thomas who married Ellen Murphy was the younger brother of my great grandfather James Patrick Hehir. They were from County Clare, Labasheeda area, but the brothers both lived on Cavendish Row in Dublin for work. James was a solicitor and I think Thomas worked for the post office. James Patrick's wife, my great grandma, was Delia (aka Adele) O'Neill and they lived at 4 Cavendish Row, North Dublin. James Patrick died about 1909 and left behind his wife and their daughter, my paternal grandmother, Mabel O'Hehir plus another daughter Alice and a toddler, James. Delia took her daughter Alice to Australia, and Mabel stayed in Ireland in a convent. Mabel later migrated to Paris where she met my grandpa as he was a doctor interning there and she was a nurse.
We are not sure but think little James went back County Clare to be raised by relatives after his father died and his mom left for Australia. A four year old James Hehir born in Dublin is shown living with the Kenny family in Kilfiddane (near Labasheeda) County Clare in the 1911 census and is listed as a nephew. All the other people are Kennys who are immediate relatives. I do not know who James Patrick and Thomas's father and mother were. No one in my family remembers who they were and I would love to find out more about the Hehir going back in time. Please let me know if this is the same family and if so, if you know anything more about the Hehir family going backward. Thanks! my email is:
