Charles Heflin was my great-great-grandfather through his daughter Carrie Maude Heflin Davis by his second wife Sally Brackin. I live in the town that is named after him in Louisiana. I know that his mother was a Buckner but I am unable to figure out her first name. He was born May 5, 1829 in Putnam County, GA and died Feb. 28, 1910 in Heflin, La. and is buried in Fellowship Cem. in Dubberly, LA. He served in the Civil War on the Confederate side. I have a distant relative that live close by who had a photo of him in his Confederate uniform but she has misplaced it. She is searching for it though. His father was Joshua Heflin born about 1800 in Georgia.
I just returned from our Davis family reunion in Heflin, La.
What info do you have, and is it different from mine?
