OK, I'll accept your representation that Heaton is a common name in England, but I doubt that it was common in colonial PA. My first post pertained to a William Heaton. At http://home.comcast.net/~krutillaja/fam00128.htm I see that a William Heaton from England died in Bucks Co., PA as the father of Elizabeth Heaton. I have found others (e.g., Francis Murray) from Bucks Co. in the Harford Co., MD records I've been researching.
