SALEM - Barbara Lou Headland, 77, died at 1:45 a.m. on Aug. 24, 2014, at Essex IIIinois.
She was born May 2, 1937, in Leetonia, Ohio, (Columbiana County) the daughter of the late Perry and Naoma (Beall) Grady.
Barbara was a graduate of Leetonia High School and attended Malone College for two years. Before her retirement, she was manager of medical offices in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and California for 31 years.
Barb was lead soloist in most churches and sang in two church women’s quartets.
She was a member of the Salem First Friends Church.
Her husband of 58 years, Rev. Mark Headland, whom she married June 2, 1956, survives her along with a son, Phil (Cathy) Headland of Lititz, Pa.; daughters Deborah Youngman of Eagleville, Pa. and Diana (David) Kind of Phoenixville, Pa.; sisters Helen Hartman of Salem, Verona Lippiatt of Salem, Marlene Grady of Salem, Ohio, Ann Oliver of Wooster, Ohio and Irene Herman of Salem; grandchildren Brockton and Brian Youngman, Dr. Branden Youngman, Brianna Markgraf, Heather and Jensen Kind, and Phillip and Nicholas Headland.
Services will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
