Don,
I think the parents of Sarah "Sally" E A J HEAD. She is the dau of Joseph HEAD (1795-Bef 1850) & Mary "Polly" Dial (1800- aft 1840). The Sally (18) on the 1850 census may be her, but with her being out of line of the other children, usually indicates that she isn't their child. The family of John & Anna were in the 1860 census of White Co., TN & then to Johnson Co., MO.
After looking at the 1840 Scurry Co., NC, we find that Joseph had only two daughters, 1 - 0-5 years and 1 5-10 yrs, but from the info I have doesn't show any daughters in the families. Then I find John Anderson, oldest s/o Joseph & Mary, died in Monroe Co., IN. Then checking 1860 Yadkin Co., NC, I find John A. & his wife, Jane Taylor is on page 271 fam. 186 and Wm & Sarah is on the 1860 Yadkin Co., NC census page 261 fam. 160. Then 1870 Monroe Co., IN, William & Sarah is on page 410 fam. 89 and John A. & Jane are on the same census page 408 fam. 53.
To really tie things together we find John A. & Jane buried in the Burgoon Church Cem. We find no markers listed in Monroe county for Wm & Sarah, however, Benjamin S is buried in the Burgoon Church Cem. and their son, Elijah T. is buried in Clear Creek Cem. This is a item we need to check for possible siblings migrating to the same place and there are usually other neighbors that come, also.
I hope this meets with your expectations and I find it very strong evidence. There could be additional data in the Scurry and Yadkin Counties courthouse. For your info, I have a website for HEAD Family Research:
www.head-frc.com. There is a great deal of info on this family, which has been documented. This line leads back to William HEAD, who died in 1710 Richmond Co., VA. I descend for this same person, but through another son, Richard.
