I have information on the ancestors of a number of Hays who lived in the San Francisco area in the late 1800s. This information goes back to Civil War service, loyalists in the Revolution, and the family's settlement in New Brunswick, Canada. The oldest ancestor in my recordsof the Hays who settled in San Francisco dates back to 1593.
If one of your Hay ancestors has one of the following names, please get in touch with me. I would be very happy to share what I have learned and connect you with other Hay cousins.
Edward B. Hay (and his wife Lenora(Nora)Powell) had seven known children: Ida Hay, Florence Hay (22 in 1900), Walter, Lenora, James (27 in 1900), Charles (20 in 1900) and John William Hay (a journalist,1868 - 1896). Although the latter died young, he had one son named John William Hay Jr. The younger Hay and his wife, Emma Voelzke had five children: Walter, Edgar, Edyth, Paul, and Dorothy.
