JOHN ANDREW1 HAVANICH was born 1892 in Hungary (obit states Paterson, NJ-census states Hungary), and died May 09, 1961 in Bridgeport, Fairfield, Connecticut. He married BERTHA SPISAK Abt. 1914, daughter of JOHN SPISAK and ROSE KEREKES. She was born December 25, 1894 in Perkupa-Rakacza,Hungary, and died December 13, 1965 in Bridgeport, Fairfield, Connecticut.

John Andrew Havanich, of 86 Prince street, proprietor of John's Market, Barnum avenue until his retirement five years ago, died yesterday in Park City hospital, where he was a patient three weeks. Services will take place Friday at 8:30 a.m. in the funeral residence of Frank Polke and son, 1546 Fairfield avenue, and at 9 o'clock in St. Stephen's church with a solemn high Mass of requiem. Burial will be in St. Michael's cemetery. Born in Paterson, N.J., Mr. Havanich resided in Bridgeport 43 years. He was a member of St. John's Nepomucene society. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Spisak Havanich; a son, Louis J. Havanich, of Fairfield; four daughters, Mrs. George Zemala, of Bridgeport, Mrs. Philip Workman, of Croyden, Pa., Mrs. Oscar Ehrenkaufer, of Milford, and Mrs. William Conboy, of Southport; two-brothers, Stephen and Andrew Havanich, both of Bridgeport; a sister, Mrs. Nicholas Soltis. of California; 17 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
