Joseph Allen Hatfield is not listed in either of the David Hatfield's households in 1850 census. I actually don't find him at all. Without a confirmed connection between Joseph Allen Hatfield to David Darby Hatfield how can you say that Kitty Ann was grand daughter of D D Hatfield ? Did he leave a will naming his children ?

According to an Ancestral File Joseph Allen Hatfield was born 18 May 1827 Grayson Co died 24 Jul 1900 in Big Clifty, Hardin Co son of David Hatfield 2 Apr 1800-18 Aug 1883 Grayson Co & Polly Gray 8 Apr 1800-3 Apr 1882 Grayson Co. 1900 census has him born Sept 1826 KY.
