We need to look deeper into the HATCH family. MY ATWELL and HATCH family seem to have had some DEEP rooted bitter battles in the past. We are related I am Native Mohegan and Royalist Aristocratic Fur BARONS.
The DOUGLASS family I believe fled Britian because they were King Charles I LAWYER and lost the case. The King Lost his head. Part of the Puzzle that is our family tree.
Johnathin Hatch Sued my Ancestor John ATWELL for "Uttering and Publishing Certain False Documents" in Horton NS. MY ancestor was a Carpenter and a Loyalist so I doubt he published MUCH but knew well the HATCH and DEWOLFE Families as I do today.
Let me put things into perpective. John ATWELL above whose GREAT GRANDFATHER was ISAAC WILLIE the first man to release SLAVES in AMERICA (1649) they were NATIVE Pequots. His GRANDUGHTER Joanna TUBBS (Part Wampanoag) married John Atwells Father Richard ATWELL.
THE DEWOLFES were the biggest slave owning family in America importers of SLAVES from Africa. My ATWELLS were Mohegan (Pequot) and BARONNET Royalists of the ATWELL LAKE families. So were Politcal opposites.
(By the way did you know the HATCH and Ingles family are Ancestors of Laura Ingalls Wilder who wrote the Little House house on the Praries?)
Now I find that Isreal CHAPIN was related tot he HATCH families. He was the Indian AGENT for the 6 Nations USA.

Now MY FAMILY of ATWELL are related to the BILL family of SENECA CHIEF Cornplanter and Myself I am distant relations to Chief JOSEPH BRANT of the Mohawks.
So you see the WHOLE matter is mixed into a problem of genealogy that our ENGLISH ancestors had inter married several native bloodlines. And we were OPPOSITE ends of the political games.
SO to wrap it all up your ANCESTORS had intermarried and perhaps fathered several times with Native and Mixed families such as my own. Your Ancestry is basically Mixed up in native politics. And I right now in my life am actively defending Native Treaties in Canada. Sorry I could not help more... Old Cousins!
