I am trying to break through a brick wall concerning the parentage of my ancestor David Noble, born about 1796 somewhere in Massachusetts. Circumstantial evidence leads me to believe his mother may have been a Lydia Noble nee Harvey, probably from somewhere in Massachusetts. I have no clue as to his father's name, other than Noble. Lydia apparently had a daughter named Sally Trask Bennet born about 1800, possibly in Salem, Massachusetts. Sally Trask Bennet is (or at least was raised as) the daughter of Isaac Bennet who came to Harpswell, Maine, from somewhere in Massachusetts (he appears in the Harpswell Census of 1810). Harpswell has a record of Isaac Bennet and Lydia Noble's marriage with a date of 25 Feb. 1811 (quite some time after Sally's birth). Sally Trask Bennett married a John Pinkham, and they named one of their children David Noble Pinkham who died as an infant and is buried in the same cemetery as my David Noble (further circumstantial evidence of the connection of these people to my David Noble). Does anyone have any information that might help me to prove David Noble's ancestry? If Lydia Harvey Noble Bennet is his mother, I would like to try to learn more about her (place of birth, parents, etc.) as well. Thank you to anyone who might be able to help me.
