Does anyone know of early birth records in Berks County? I am looking for Harter/Herder records from about 1750 to 1770. Specifically, I am looking for births of Georg and Eva's other children: Georg, Christina, Adam, Frantz, Jacob, Conrad, Elizabeth, Magdalena, Dorothea, and Catharina. At that time their name was most frequently spelled Herder. I found their wedding (26 Oct 1752) and the birth -- or christening -- of their oldest son, Christian (4 Aug 1753), in Lehigh County records. In 1769 the family shows up in the Frederick County, MD, church records and I have reason to believe that during the interval they just might have been in the Tulpehocken region.
