My mother is researching the Harrell side of her family. Her great-granfather was Saul Harrell and her grandmother was Hattie Harrell. In the 1866, Saul was in Dallas County, Alabama. However, we can not find information of where he was born (he was born in 1854) or even where he died. There is no death certificate nor social security number on him. If you have info on the African-American Harrells in Alabama, your help would be appreciated.
