Children: Ruth Elaine, Mary Frances, Anita Louise. Educated, Public schools of Conina, Conina High School, University of California, Los Angeles, B. E., 1929; advanced work at the University of Southern California. Occupation: Physical Education Instructor and Athletic Coach, Kern County Union High School, Bakersfield, Calif. He came to Kern County in 1924 and became Physical Educational Instructor and Assistant Coach of Athletics, Football and Basketball, at the Kern County Union High School, which positions he held until 1930 when in addition, he became Head Coach of Track and Field, which position he still holds. Under his Coaching his teams won Track and Field Championships, C. I. F., Central Section, 1933, 34, 35, 38, 39; Tulare County Relays, Track and Field Championships, 1931, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39; Fresno Relays, High School Division, Track and Field Championships, 1935, 36, 37, 38, 39; Long Beach Relays, Track and Field Championships, 1938-39; Bakersfield Relay Championships, 1933, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39; California State C. I. F., Track and Field Championship, 1939. He has been a member of the Bakersfield Swimming Program since 1938. He is a member of the Kern County Recreation Commission and established the first Bakersfield Softball, night ball, League in 1930. He is a member of the California Society for Health, Physical Education and Recreation and is a member of that organization's State Legislative Committee.
