Thye lived down a long, dirt lane off Husted Station Road. She has a brother Warren, that still lives in that house. Her sister Betty Ann Ford passed away in 2004.

I will ask my mother when she returns from vacation next week. What is your mother's name? I don't really know Edith personally, but I know where she lives. And I knew she was very knowledgable about birds.

Sorry, I made a mistake in my last posting. It was Nathan that I don't think had any brothers or sisters. My grandfather (Harold) had three sisters and two brothers: Edith, Wilson, Mildred, Viola, and Walter. What a coincidence, my mother's maiden name was Kandle. Her parents were Warren and Anna (Moore)Kandle of Pittsgrove Twp.

Nathan and Kate were the Grandparents of my father (John H. Hannol,Sr.). As far as I know, Nathan and Kate only had one child (my grandfather), Harold Hannold (deceased). He married Laura Shaw. Harold was killed in an accident in 1969. They had eight children: John (my father), James, Arthur (deceased), Nathan (deceased), Katherine, Margaret (Peg), Joan, and Marie (deceased). There are 19 grandchildren of Harold and Laura. I can give you more info, if you would like. I would be interested in learning how I am connected to you.

Amos Hannold b. 1874

Hannold's from the Brookville DuBois area. My husband's father Ken Eberly Sr is the Son of Richard Eberly and Emma Hannold b. 1909 in Illinois. They were divorced and she moved to Dubois and married Roy Bell. Emma Hannold was the daughter of Amos and Eva Hannold.
Amos was born in Cambridge Springs PA according to his obit Jul 1948 in the Dixion Evening Telegraph and his married daughters were all living in DuBois at that time. One was married to Ralph Rucker I believe.
Emma's (Hannold) Eberly Bell brother Alvin Hannold b. 1919 married Clara Nichols b. 1920 who was also the daughter of Dencie (Lockwood) and William Nichols. This is where every thing get a little confusing. Yes my husband's aunt on his mother's side married the brother of his Grandmother on his father side.
Anyway to the point. I have hit a brick wall with Amos Hannold. Children were Mary b. 1907,
Emma b. 1909, Edith b. 1914 and Alvin b. 1919. I think Mary was married to Ralph Rucker. Alvin married Clara Nichols and they lived in DuBois (Sandy township). She still lives there. Their son Alvin b. 1940 married Sandy Tracy and he died in 1999. They lived in Niagara Falls.
The ninety pounds would have been per child. This could be paid by selling the business (not mentioned in the abstract) or paid in installments. There would be more information in the actual will information in the NJ archives, in Trenton. Unfortunately, will abstracts frequently raise as many questions as they answer
There is a Margaret Hannold buried next to Rachel in Colestown cemetery. She died after Rachel.
The John Gill mentioned in the will was a neighbor (across Kings Highway & up a couple of blocks toward what was then Delaware Township. He was the stepfather of Mary's future husband.

Hope you get this message - I am Clara and Alvin's granddaughter - Theresa
My dad was Alvin Hannold who lived in New York. I don't have anything to add, but thought you might be interested in knowing some relative somewhere was reading your message.
Actually it was grandpa (Alvin Sr) who died in December, 1999. My dad (Alvin Jr) died 10 years ago. My brother, Alvin III died in an accident at work 15 years ago. Odd how they were reversed in dates of death
Anyhow, Would love to chat with you

If a Quaker married a non-Quaker, he/she was "read out". If the non-Quaker joined the meeting, there was not a problem. There are several Haddonfield Quakers buried in Colestown Cemetery (the cemetery where Hans George is buried), because they could not be buried in the Friends Cemetery in Haddonfield since they had been read out for fighting in the Revolution.

Teri,

I am the wife of Kenneth Eberly Jr. You probably don't remember me but we lived in Niagara Falls for about a year and a half in 1979-1980 when you were a teen ager. When we were back there when Lois Eberly passed away I met you again at your mom's house you were in a hurry on your way to work I think. Your grandmother gave me most of the information I have on the Hannold's. Would love to chat with you feel free to e-mail us direct at eberlyskd@aol.com
Sorry it took so long to respond but I did not relize the post was there. Until I got an e-mail that someone had posted. A Brian Hannold Ken says he is part of your family and thinks he lives with your mom. Then I saw you had posted way back in December.

Look forward to hearing from you
Debby

If you are familiar with Southern Ca. it is 20 miles east of Temecula, 25 miles south of Hemet.

I will let the Hannolds in Niagara Falls know you are interested in meeting them.

I am sorry to say the Lois passed away Feb 2003 and Ken Sr. passed Feb 2007. There are relatives in Niagara Falls Sandy (Tracy) Hannold who was married to Alvin Hannold II and her children and grandchildren. How are you connected to our tree. I have been trying to find more info on Amos Hannold and Eva(maiden name unknown) for a while now. Glad to hear from you. Maybe you can help me break down this brick wall.

Brian,
I have seen nothing that would pinpoint Giessen. Famlienbuchen are common all over Germany. I am on 2 "German" mailing lists & there is information about them exchanged all of the time. Generally each village in the Kreis of a stadt has it's own book (unless it's too small to have a full-time parish church).
The name Hunold appears to be widespread & traces back to a noble man. Hanold/Hannold may be a varient of Hunold.
Kathy
