I have been researching Alexander Hanna from Canonsburg, PA and his wife, Catherine Burnside. He was born in Ireland ~ 1812, and arrived in the U.S. in 1829 (age 17), and was naturalized June 20, 1838. He purchased property in and around Canonsburg between 1829 and 1869, and sold many of them off between 1836 and 1855. The last one was seized in a Sheriff's sale to satisfy a judgment against him in Common Pleas Court of Washington County. Catherine may have been his 2nd wife as several of the earlier deeds reference his wife "Ann". Alexander and Catherine moved to Allegheny City, (now the North Side of Pittsburgh) in the 1850's. They had 10 children. Both are buried at Uniondale Cemetery in Pittsburgh.
