Regret I did not identify my great-great grandparents (Catherine and Thompson Hanna) until very recently. Daniel was my great grandfather as Daniel and Amelia were the parents of my grandmother who was Sarah Loretta Hanna (or Sarah J. Retta Hanna as shown in some census records). I have been researching my mother's side of the family for about 10 years. I only knew they were Hanna and Stauffer family names. Ironically, we had a family bible (Stauffer) in our Atlanta, Georgia household in the 1950s that was removed by Loretta Walraven when she was loosing her mental capabilities and it disappeared. I only recently (2013) found my mother's birth record when Pennsylvania finally digitized 1906 birth records. My mother never knew exactly where she was born other than Pennsylvania. In fact, when she registered for her Social Security card she said Hershey rather than Carnegie.
For some reason, my grandmother Loretta listed James G. Hanna as her father and Suzan her mother. She acknowledged 7 brothers but the names in the bible (the only information I copied before the bible disappeared) do not match the census records I have researched. In fact, James G. Hanna was her younger brother? I don't know exactly what she was hiding, if any thing, but there was issues regarding my mother's birth and her supposed father (Isaac Francis Walraven) who never acknowledged her a his child.....rather he said she was his step daughter?
I would like to make contact with kin, if possible. I know from Family Search and Ancestry searches that there are others using the same family tree building blocks I am familiar with. Hope you or someone in your family sees this email or web posting.
