Add another family link to that list that heard the family story that the Hamners were German ancestry. I have looked hard, and could only find a few HAMMERs that are German. Everyone else looks like they originated in Flintshire Wales.

I have also heard we have native american ancestors, but cannot find specifics. Could you illuminate either family story?

I descent from the Humphrey Hamner that came from Wales to Virginia early 1600s, then Daniel Gaines Hamner that settled in Alabama.
