Not too long ago as I started researching my father's side of the family, I learned that I had a Lydia Hamlin born March 1813 "of" York, Ohio who married before 1837 to Samuel Daniel Coe (b. 1808, New Paltz, Ulster, NY. Died 1889 either Elkhart, Indiana or Elkhart, Illinois. Samuel D. was son of Alexander Coe Elizabeth DuBois of New Paltz, Ulster, New York). They are my ggg grandparents. Someone who knows a little about my Coes told me that Lydia's father was named Gershom Hamlin 'of' Portland, Maine. Thats all I know about my Hamlins. Without other info I assume this is probably like looking for a needle in a haystack. Just thought I'd bring it up to see if anyone knows about this line.
