John and Betty are my earliest known relatives and I would greatly appriciate any info regarding their parents since I am now stuck on this branch of my tree.

The info I have gathered on them prior to arriving in America is contradictory and confusing. It is stated in several sources that they were both born in Scotland yet in most sourceless user content its said that Johns parents were Alexander Hamilton and Elizabeth Shercliffe who in most records are said to have been born in Maryland.

With no solid records I can only assume that there are major inaccuracies here. If anyone could help clear this up I would be greatfull since this has completely derailed my geneology research.
