My ggrandfather Robert George Hamilton had come over to America as a stowaway. His parents were John and Ellen Scott Hamilton. John was born in Scotland and Ellen was born in Ireland. I am told that John and Ellen both died relatively young. How my ggrandfather made it over and from where to America Im not sure. robert George was born in 1869-70. But on the census's I find that he has placed Canada English as his place of birth. Any help would greatly be appreciated and shared.
