Samuel Patterson Hallam is my great grandfather. He was born 2/20/1842 in Washington, PA and died 10/10/1933 in Wenona, Marshall County, IL. He was a veteran of the Civil War where he was wounded and captured and sent for a time to Andersonville Prison. As a result of his war wounds he lost a leg. After being widowed he returned to Wenona to live with his son Harry and was a drayman for a number of years.
