MY FATHER'S NAME WAS JOHN PATRICK HALLAHAN. HE WAS BORN TO JOHN PATRIC HALLAHAN AND FRANCIS HARRIS HALLAHAN ON THE ROAD IN VAUDEVILLE. (I BELIEVE IN NEW YORK) HE GREW UP IN CHICAGO, IL, AND EVENTUALLY MARRIED ELIZABETH JOAN VANTREESE. I HAVE NO INFORMATION ON WHO HIS GRANDPARENTS ON HIS FATHER'S SIDE WERE (HALLAHAN, BUT USED THE STAGENAME OF "HALLEN"). ANY HELP AVAILABLE?

Hi--

I've been searching for info on John P Hallahan for some time as that is the name of my half-brother. My Dad used the stage name of Jack Hallen, and he toured in vaudeville before settling in Chicago in the late 1920s. Dad divorced the mother of my half-brother and half-sister (Mary) sometime thereafter. My Mom married Jack Hallen in the early 1930s, at which time Jack became involved in staging shows at the 1933 Century of Progress world's fair in Chicago.

Your parents lived with us right after World War II, when the housing shortage forced a lot of families to share space. We called your Dad "Big Pat" to distinguish him from my sister Patricia and his and Betsy's first child Patricia (whom we referred to as "Patty Bum-Bums" as she was still an infant).

The last time I saw Big Pat or Betsy in person was at my Dad's funeral in 1949, at which time he was 26 years old.

When I was in college I opened up the Sun-Times one afternoon and saw a picture of your whole family in front of a local hospital upon the birth of their 12th child.

Hope this helps in establishing whether we are related.

Nora
