I am searching for information about a James Hallahan/Hallihan/Hallighan/Hallaghan who was born in Ireland, according to census records of Burlington, VT, in 1808. He married Honora Hennessy/Hennessey either in Ireland or Canada, before 1847 when their son John was born,in Burlington, VT

I think, based on the names you mentioned, that your James Hallahan may be the father of James John Hallahan, my Great-Great Grandfather who fought in the Civil War.
