I have been looking for the parents names and the birth/mariage/death dates and places for Nancy Hall's family.

She was born November 9, 1804 in Laurens Coo. - although it was not named Laurens until 1807 as per the county website. She married Frederick Faircloth there on November 30, 1823. He was born in the Snow Hill area (Greene Co.) of North Carolina on 2/13/1800 and later moved to Laurens County where he most likely met Nancy Hall..... unless she was born in North Carolina also - which is possible. They moved as a married couple from Laurens to Wilcox County (Pitts) near Cordele in central Ga. where they raised their 12 children. Many of their many descendents still live in and around there.

Freferick died on his birthday (2/13) in 1866 and his wife Nancy Hall Faircloth lived until January 1891 and died in Wilcox County, Ga. They were members of the Union Baptist Church in Pitts, Ga. and had a big farm there. Many of their sons served as CSA and most of those that did, never returned to the family farm. That cemetary is full of all their many relations including the Darseys, the Miles, the Faircloths and their multitude of descendents.

There are no Halls there however, except Nancy.

The Darseys, Miles and Faircloths probably originated in Va. or Md. and worked their way south and got land as a reward for their service in the American Revolution as those families had many Revolutionary War Soldiers.

They may have migrated into North Carolina and their service was probably there as that is where my many other "soldiers" hailed from before landing in Georgia.

I think that the Faircloths and Darsey families started near what is now the Dublin/Dexter area in Laurens and then removed to Wilcox as a big group. Most of the abovementioned are all in the cemetary in Pitts, Ga. - that is why I say that.

I have no information on the Miles family or where they came from. A daughter of Jesse L. or L. Jesse Miles and Elizabeth (maiden name unknown) Miles had a daughter, Louisa Elizabeth Miles that was married to another grandfather of long ago named James Rufus Darsey, a son of Seth and Edith Peacock Darsey.

Do any of these names ring a bell????

I have been searching for her ancestry FOREVER it seems, as Hall is such a common name.

Does anyone have any leads?
I would really appreciate it!

Hi Nancy! I just saw your post so I'm hoping you still are on Ancestry.com. Thank you for posting so much info as I am a descendent of the Faircloths. My sister was going through some papers of my recently deceased mother and came across a 50th anniversary document for the founding of Union Baptist church in 1850. My sister is going to make a copy for me at some point, but it talked of how Nancy and Frederick founded the church and listed a few other relatives and their relation to each other. As far as Nancy Hall's parents, I don't know. Frankly it was from your post that I discovered her name was Hall! If I come across any information I will try to let you know.
