Surnames: Halford, Dalton, Jackson, Bishop, Clementine
In North Carolina Research Genealogy and Local History it states, "guardians of orphans were appointed for children that had property belonging to them personally,... or that only one parent was dead. This might put a different spin on those unable to find ancestors! The mothers could still be alive and only remarried or living elsewhere.
