My grandfather was Morris Haimowitz, born 10/21/1873. He lived in Roumania in a town pronounced Ya-sy and spelled at least two ways, Jassy and Iassy. He died 11/28/43. He had siblings Isidore, Bernard, Jacob, sidney and Jennie who married into the Babit (sp?) family. They were Jewish, and lived in Bronx, New York City. I want to know what happened to the decendents of the siblings. Also the original spelling of haimowitz was Cheimovicizi. Does anyone have more info on this name in Roumania?
