Re: Juergen Haecker and decendents

Hi, my name is Jo Henry and i work at Blackburn High School in Melbourne. I was recently sent a package containing some old family photos and school photos. There was also an old newspaper article mentioning a Juergen Haecker. I checked the school's archive register and found that a Juergen Haecker attended BHS from 1960-1965. His DOB being 27/12/48.
This package came from a lady who works in an Op shop in Melbourne and she felt that they may have been unknowingly handed in with other stuff, so she decided to send them to us here at the school. Please feel free to contact Blackburn High School so these photos can be returned to the correct family or owners. Cheers.

Haecker/Wright/Looney Family

I am looking for any descendants of Armilda Crawford Wright and William Joseph Heacker. I'm at a dead end in my line, but my 4th great aunt, Armilda Graves-Church, lists Sallie Heacker as a sister in her will which clearly by looking at Sallie's descendants is Armilda Crawford Wright-Heacker. I'm looking for anyone who knows of the relationship between this family and the Graves family. There's lots of information on the Heacker family in the will.

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1942-24239-47276-24...

Armilda Heacker's children mentioned in will:

Sarah A Murphy (there's Hathaways mentioned in other places as well)
Mollie Johnson (I suspect this is Mary Elizabeth in this family as she married a Johnson)
Millie Looney (Armilda Heacker)
Maud Heacker
Ida Heacker

Children of Edwin Heacker
Herman Heacker
Leona Heacker
Frank Heacker
James Heacker
May Heacker
Luretta Heacker
Edwin Heacker
Effie Day Heacker

Gives quite a bit of substantial information—like where they were when Armilda Graves-Church died and how much they inherited.

Knowing the connection between the two Armilda's and why my 4th great aunt Armilda Graves-Church considered her a sister (perhaps half sister through the Hamilton side is my best guess!) would be wonderful.

I a seeking information on my great-grandmother, Sarah Aileen Heacker (daughter of Armilda Crawford Wright and William Joseph Heacker).

I am new to genealogy and must thank William C. McKee whose detailed information on the McKee forum has filled in many holes.

Sarah Aileen bore one daughter and three sons. Her daughter, Myrtle Louella Hathaway, is my grandmother who bore ten children with eight surviving to adulthood. There are many of us who know little of our Haecker heritage. Thank you to all who use this forum.

Beth Peel Leggieri (Denton, TX)

I have come accross notes used by my mother when she was secretary of the Charles Heiermann reunion. I don't have the actual minutes but notes and letters from the family listing vital facts. I have placed this info in a tree titled "Heiermann Project". This project is dedicated to research on ancestors, siblings and decendants of Charles Heiermann and Paulina Haecker.

Hi Kristen,
I used to date a girl named Elaine Haecker in Zanesville OH. She had a grandfather there, and the name Adolf sounds familiar, but I'm not 100% sure. Anyway, Elaine and her family moved to Seguin TX around 1978 or 1979. The grandfather may have followed later, but I joined the Navy and moved away so I don't know.
Hope this helps
John Schaefer

This has to be the individual in question. My dad was 16 at the time and his family was living in Marion Ohio. In the 1930 census it lists Arthur John Haecker, age 16, as a nephew in the Massalon home. I do not know, however, the exact "uncle" relationship. query: do you have "Family Tree"

Art Haecker

After replying to your message, I went back to the 1910 Census, and found that my John E Haecker had a son, John E, who was born in 1902 and in the 1930 Census WAS in Massalon, Ohio. So, if he is your relative we are related. You can reply to my e-mail or on the board and I will give you more info.

Marilyn

I do have some new Haecker Info. Balthazer Haecker and his wife Christina Zundle came to America in 1831, live in Pennsylvania for a year then moved to Medina, OH. They had 2 sons, Johannas (John) and Heinrich (Henry). After 1850 Henry and his family moved to Wisconsin for about 5 years, then to Franklin CO, Iowa. I have info. on most of them. John and his family moved to Wells County, Indiana, and they had a son John E Haecker, born Nov 1859. He married a Jenne in 1897, but I think that was his 2nd marriage. They were in Wells CO, Indiana in 1900 but I have not been able to track them further, or any of his brothers. Does this match the age of your John E Haecker? If so, I have a lot of family info if you are interested.

I ran into the same problem re the mid-west Haeckers. My family "appeared" in Eden (Center), N.Y. in 1853: Henry Jacob Haecker. Kids: Adam Jacob,George, Earl,Ethel, Addie. Family in a swath from Buffalo area; Jamestown, N.Y.; Erie Pa.; Meadville Pa. Marion , Oh. I did find a 1930 census hit for who could only be my father staying with an unknown uncle in a town in eastern Oh.

Perhapes we are related.

I am aware of the reunion and plan to attend this year. However, the person who contacted me said that it was on October 28--you said the 21st. I'll have to look around for a contact person to verify the date and possibly change my travel plans.
Thanks for your response--we will then probably meet in October!

My Great Great Great Grandfather was Friedrich Haecker whose wife was Maria Brinkmann. My Great Great Grandfather Wilhem Haecker had a brother named Karl who married a Christina Weller. The Christian Loeffler family married into the Haecker family. I don't know where you live but every year we have a Haecker Loeffler reunion in Zuehl, Texas which is in Guadalupe county where most of the Friedrich Haecker family settled. This year the reunion is on Saturday, October 21st.

Unfortunately I don't think they are....the Ohio Haeckers I believe immigrated through east coast harbors. My Haecker brothers (and many others) came to Indianola, Texas, from LaHavre, as there was a large Germany community in the Comal County area--Fredericksburg, New Braunsfels, Schertz, etc. They are from the Pommern (now Poland) and Wuerttemburg area. The families who immigrated with them had surnames Weller and Loeffler.

So, best of luck--if you see any ties, by all means be in touch!
I am interested in the Haecker line. My Haecker, Heinrich, came from Klingenmunster, Germany, near the Swiss border, before 1840 and settled in Ohio, Licking Co. The family later moved to Dane Co, Wisconsin, them part of them moved back to Francklin CO Iowa. I do not know if they are connected to the Texas Haeckers, but I would like to share information with you, to see if there is a connection.

That generation is what I am trying to piece together. Do you know his age in 1930? He had 3 other brothers who could have had a John: Elijah, Theopholis, or Theodore. Are any of those names a match?

Possibly. My Heinrich came from Germany before 1840 and settled in Medina, Ohio, had 11 children (6 boys) and most of the family moved to Hampton, Iowa around Civil War times. From there I have lost track. If you can trace any to Hampton or Medina, Ohio, they are probably the same. I have seen some of the other lines. also.
