Ed, My Martha Haack was born earlier in 1888. Just recently found my Haack family line lived in and around Menomonee Falls, WI. This Haack line moved on to Washington Territory. At the same time two Haack brothers moved to New Zealand & the rest stayed in WI. Please contact me if you want more information at KClin29727@aol.com

Hello,
Do you know in what province Koszaline is located? The Haack family I'm from lived in West Prussia (a province in North Germany). This province is now in Poland. The information you have given does not fit my family but I'm always interested in finding new family connections. I have just published the "Haack Family History." It's available in many libraries.
Good luck!

Hello Edward; The Koszalin area is in the Kreis/county Stadkreis K``oelin ,and Kreisstadt is the county seat ,it was German province of Pommern , and todays Poland province of Koszalinskie.--- I believe that it is about 135 km from Stettin/Szczecin ,and Koeslin/Koszalin is near the baltic sea. My Haack family came to America from West Prussia, a province immediately to the east of Pomerania. The town they came from was Barendt. However, that doesn't mean there isn't a connection between the two families. Families did move around.
I find it interesting that my grandfather (Seefelt) and Grandmother (Grosnick) who came from Pomerania lived in the same areas where your Haack family lived. My Grandfather came from Kolberg which is about 30 miles west of Kaszolin and my Grandmother came from Baumgarten a town located about 30 miles northeast of Stettin. They were my father's parents. The Haacks are on my mother's side of the family.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Karl, Have you found any more information on Bernhard's daughter, Franciska, or son, Richard. On the immigration record of Bernhard and Bertha, was there a Wilhelm listed with them? (Possibly a brother). I can't remember where I found Wilhelm. I am still sure that my Ida Haack, wife of Charles (Karl) Nowak (Nowack) was a sister to Bernhard. I believe they came from the same area in Poland. My new email address is bevie@att.net. Ida Haack's death certificate shows a William Haack listed as her father. Have you found any info on the Haacks in Poland or other Haacks who are related in the U.S.? Bev Baird

Does Woclawek mean anything to you? This is where the Haacks settled and lived. They set up soap factories, manufactured agricultural machinery and supported local schools and churches. Some of the names of my ancestors: Henrietta Haack, Hugon Haack, Wilhelm Haack. The very last one was Wlodzimierz Haack who wrote a book entitled "Bread and Corals".
