I am searching for information about Wilhelm Julius Albert Haack son of Daniel Gottlieb Haack and Caroline Hofs. Born 17 Dec. 1842 in Hinter Pommen Koenigs Prussia. Married Maria Louis Korgan daughter of John Korgen and Maria Korgen. Born 3 June, 1854 in Brandenburg Koenigs Prussia

My name is Roger Haack. I found your email while searching the internet on “Julius Haack”. I too am looking for ancestors and wonder if we’re related.

My great great grandfather was Julius Haack. I know virtually nothing about him, other than that he was from Germany, and not even the name of his wife.

His son, the only child I know about, was Louis Emil Leopold Haack, born May 24, 1855 in Bergen, Brandenburg Germany. Married Sophie Gundelach (born abt 1857 in Neustadt, Germany. Died in 1886 during childbirth.)

Louis remarried Emma Johanna Catherine Bebensee (born Mar 23, 1862 in Wandsbek, Holstein Germany).

They had several children. One was Julius August Henry Haack born 1894 and another was my grandfather Paul Claus Wilhelm Haack, born 1896.

As to immigration to Nebraska, not too much is known.
There is a good record that Sophie Gundelach immigrated on 25 May 1883. But we think Louis came in 1882 sometime. Probably Louis came over in 1882, and then sent for Sophie in 1883.
