my maternal grandfathers name is Richard F. Haack. He passed away a few years ago. He was a Husband, Father of one, Grandfather to three, U.S. Soldier (landed on Utah Beach during the Normandy Invasion) participated in the liberatation of Dachau, Professional Baseball Player (Cubs Organization), Hunter, Trapper, Fisherman, Machine Shop Teacher, Pitching Mentor, Friend, proud American, and just a kind warm soul. I miss him and loved him dearly. His hearts' size was only matched by his smiles'......love ya gramps!

Sorry for your loss, your granpa sounds like an amazing man.

My husband's Great Grandmother was Anna (Haack) Ohlsen. She was born in Benton County, Iowa in 1883. Her parents were John Martin Haack and Johanna (Garf) Haack. John Martin Haack was born in Germany. Sound familiar to anyone?

I was just out to Iowa last week for a Haack family reunion. There is a large family out there and I would love to exchange notes with you on your roots. My g-g-grandfather was Martin Haack and his wife was Caroline Timm. My family is in the Milwaukee, WI area. AL
