hoefer / Höfer

I am looking for any information in Heinrich Höfer who was born June 28, 1839 in Ahlstadt, Germany.

Here is what I know:

- He married Anna Regina Diller (probably in Germany).
- In Philadelphia, he is listed as Henry Hoefer.
- He and his wife had 9 children: Anna Margaret, Bruno, George, Rose, Kate, Emil Albert, Clara Carolyn, Marie Laura, and Henry Jr.

I have census data records for them starting in 1880. He and his children were saw makers.

I'm trying to find the connection to any of his siblings, or parents in Germany.

Any information would be great.

Thanks,

Ken Houseman

Angela,

I don't see a Theobolt Hofer in my tree. This is the only part of my family tree that I actually have traced to an exact town in Germany as well as dates when they came over. What I know is this: My Great Great Grandfather Heinrich came over when he was about 15 with his older brother Johan, and Johan's wife Anna Barbara and her siblings. They came into the port of Philadelphia and settled there. I know my Great grandfather also changed the name to Haefer at some point. but I'm not sure exactly when.

Are you to the point where you have traced back to Germany, or are you still working on that???? If you are in the Philadelphia area, the Historic society is your best bet.
