I am seeking ties to the Gyure family from Vajan, Hungary, from the Ung County (which I believe is the Ukraine today) and/or Zemplen County (which is Slovakia.) My great-grandmother was Zsuzsanna (Susie)Krajnyik (nee Gyure.) She was born in 1855 and came to the U.S. in 1888 as far as I know. She had a brother, Janos (John), who came circa 1890 and a sister Julia Stefan who stayed behind in Hungary. She had a nephew, Joseph, who was living in Fairport, Ohio when she died in 1933.

I am from Fairport Hbr, OH and my grandfather is John Gyure, who came to the US in approximately 1888. The father of Joe Gyure that lived in Fairport is a first cousin to the father of my grandfather, John. Does this "relate" to you in some form???

My gr-grandmother was Zsuzsanna Krajnyik (nee Gyure) who came to the U.S. circa 1888. Her brother, John Gyure, came to the U.S., as far as I know, circa 1890 with my grandmother Susie Csutoras (nee Krajnyik), who was about 13 at the time. My gr-grandmother and her brother were from Vajan, Ung County in the old Hungary. Gr-grandmother's brother, John, died of sunstroke in Lorain, Ohio in 1906. According to my gr-grandmother's death notice in the Hungarian newspaper (1933), she had two nephews (John and Joseph Gyure) in Fairport Harbor, Ohio, who survived her.
