I am searching for any relatives to a Jan (John) Giadla (a/k/a Gjondla or Gyondla). He was born circa 1820 and married a Verona (Veronica) Albertusiak. They had 3 children in Jablonka - Maria, Anna, and Jan (John).

Hi. My mother's father was from Jablonka and was named Karol Gjondla. He left his father, Jozef Gjondla, and brothers behind when he came to America. Karol was one of five children of Jozef and his his first wife, Terezia (Grahovski):Karol, Theresa, Joanne, Jozef and Jan. Karol was born in 1889. One of my distant cousins has connected with several Gjondla families in Jablonka who are descendents of Jozef also: Stanley Gjondla and Aloyzy Gjondla. Any chance you're from this family line? I only recently learned all this and that my grandfather was Slovakian apparently. It was said he could speak five languages.

My John (Jan) was born around 1820. Considering they are from a small village, he may be an uncle or cousin to your family line. It was quite common to name children after their aunts/uncles and grandparents.

You appear to be a cousin to Joe Gjonola who previously posted on this board.

That is about all I know other than my John married a Veronica Albertusiak and they had 3 children - Maria (my family link), Anna, and another John (around 1850). My relative who traced this died more than 2 years ago.
