Robert Lamphere Gyles Newport, Vermont
I'm looking for more information on the Gyles family. My Great Grandfather Robert Lamphere Gyles was born in 1903 in Iowa USA. His wife Margaret May Whittier was born on 4 April 1905, in Quebec, Canada. They were living in Newport, Vermont when they had my Grandmother Iris May Gyles born 5 June 1926 and died 21 Feb 1984. Iris was married to my Grandfather Clayton E. Hanks, Sr, and lived in Townsend, MA.

Re: Robert Lamphere Gyles Newport, Vermont
Where was your g grandfather earl born? Since my g grandfather Robert has both the Lamphere and Gyles name that probably would be right. Robert has been as far back as I've been able to track with definite information to go on. I'm wondering if the parents passed away at an early age because at one point he was in the census living in Montana with his younger brother Charles. Sorry I don't have more information to go on.

Re: Robert Lamphere Gyles Newport, Vermont
Brenda I believe your Great Great Grand father is Charles Sanborn Gyles, he was the brother to my Great Great Grand Father. Our Family connection is their father Thomas Samuel Charles Gyles who married Susan Lamphere.
