Looks like I need to run searches on myself more often.
Okay, I'm the Larry Gyger in Cumberland, MD. My GGGrandfather, John Charles Gyger, came from Switzerland in 1856. I can't establish any links to Gygers in TX. My Grandfather, Kenneth Gyger, lived in AZ from the early 1960's till his death in 1986. Also looking for descendants of a male Gyger that was born around 1893 in Illinois - father would have been Edwin Gyger who died in 1896, mother possibly a Lina Olmstead. Any clues, drop an email.

Larry,
We've exchanged mail since I posted this message.

I've come to understand we are not relatives unless it is from back in the old country. And my clan (Christian Geiger - about 1700) doesn't have those records. I've been to your web site and seen your geneology. Nice work!

I have located Geigers that ARE relatives of mine all around the midwest - hundreds of them. But none has linkage to the families you post.

Thanks for answering my post and good luck in your search.

Gene

Kim -
Are you related to the Marilyn Gyger in Oregon, IL? I just came across the name earlier today (8/25/09). If so, she is close to where my Gygers lived - Princeton, IL. I am still looking for a male Gyger that was born in 1893 - I believe his name to be Leslie Gyger - found in the 1900 census living with his grandmother in Buda, IL (I think. I don't have my notes with me). Her last name was Olmstead.

Hello, I'm looking for Albert Geiger, b1869/1870 in Texas as was a sister?, Mattie. He later went by David C in Paola/Franklin Co, Kansas. I am curious if he may be related to Christian Geiger, or a John C Geiger, Census shows that Albert was back in Panola, Woodford IL in 1880 (he was 11), but no sign of other family member in 1880??? His sister Mattie later lived with his wife in Peoria/Franklin Co, KS area in 1920Census.

Any ideas? He was born in Tx, Father in Pa, Mother in TX, based on all census he appears on.

Thanks for any help.

I'm here! Just haven't been too active in doing research. However.... I see a change coming. I've got a trip planned to the National Archives late Feb/Early March. I need to get some copies of some census records and do a little more research on a couple of lines.
Where in AZ are you? My Step-Grandmother lives in Sun City. I'm hoping to make a trip out there in October this year. This past year is the first time in 4-5 years I haven't been out there.
