Hello, you are correct, Hannah Bubb (Born around 1718) was married to William Gyde (Christened on 22 Nov 1715) in Painswick on 11 Jun 1739. What I have on John is, christened on 16 May 1744, in Painswick and was married to Sarah Hogg (Born around 1747) on 31 Mar 1771 in Painswick. Sarah was the daughter of William Hogg and Elizabeth Mitchell. I am a descendant of two of John’s sons, Daniel (Paternal line) and Samuel (Maternal line)! John is my Great-great-great-great-great-grandfather.

Your welcome! Right now I am completing my Great-Great-Grandfather (Urban Gyde)! From there I hope to expand back to the outlying family tree, descendants of Daniel Gyde! Any help you can give me on your branch of the family would be greatly appreciated. Just wish I had the internet back in the late 80's, when I was stationed at RAF Bentwaters. Hope to hear from you again. I am including my email address, green_acres48159@hotmail.com, so anyone else working on the family tree can contact me for my side.

Hi David. Louisa Martha's family was the branch that lived in the village of Pitchcombe about 1.5 miles from Painswick. According to my records she had 4 brothers: Edward, John, William & Charles. Her parents were Richard & Sarah (nee Mortimer). Richard's parents were Thomas & Martha (nee Savory). Thomas' parents were James & Elizabeth (nee Walker). I have no info about Louisa's husband or children. Regards.

Just looking through some paperwork for the Gyde family and came up with this explaination for the dates. Thomas Gyde (C: 12 Dec 1705, in Painswick) had a son named John (C: 18 Aug 1734, in Painswick). This is within a two year period for the John Gyde buried in Painswick in 1797, age 65. Thomas and William were cousins. Could this possibly be the John Gyde buried in 1797?

That's interesting. I have William's cousin on my family tree; Thomas born c.1705, married 1732 to Hannah Thomas. The only children I have showing for them are Daniel (no date), Thomas (b.1736) & Hannah (b.1737; she married John Horlick). As you say, the dates fit.
