My ather's family used to own the Mill at St Dogmaels Cardiganshire and when we sold it in the mid seventies, we noticed that the old deeds referred to it having been previously owned by Marmaduke Gwynne of Garth (brecon). We don't know whether this was a direct ancestor, if so it would relate us to Sarah Gwynne the wife of Charles Wesley.
If you have any info that might help this question I would be very grateful

Owen -I can confirm that a Marmaduke Gwynne was the father of Sarah Gwynne who married Charles Wesley. The ceremony was conducted by John Wesley. However Marmaduke appeared as a family name so you will need a date to pinpoint if you have the father. Please e-mail me direct as I do have a bit more information

I have a Sarah Gwynne who married into my WITHERS in Alvechurch, Worcester UK.
Austin WITHERS married Sarah on 16 Jan 1871 .
It seems that she was chr. 13 Dec 1846 Alvechurch.
I wondered if you had any idea where these Gwyn 's might have come from?
1822 shows the first Gwynn to be Christened in Alvechurch which seems like to have been Joseph on 15 Sept 1822 .His parents were William and Mary Gwinn.
I look foprward to hearing from you
Regards Vicky .

Hi Vicky, Haven't been able to find out Where William and Mary Gwynne Came from but must have been somewhere in Wales as they could speak the language.I am decendent from one of their son's Jonathon who was born around 1834 he and his wife Harriet Hill came to New Zealand in 1880 on the Edwin Fox. As there were at least 9 other children in Jonathon's family would love to get in touch with some to fill in the gaps. Don't think we will find any still living in Alverchurch. Keep in touch. Sandy

James Gwynne married Mary James in 1814, had daughter Mary abt. 1826 who married David Herring. The Herrings emmigrated to US in 1852 etc., and Mary Herring died in 1899 near Jackson, Michigan. Do you have any record of Mary James parents? I can fill-in on US line if wanted.
Thanks
